Been a while…
Posted in Blogs on November 17th, 2004 by Brian – Be the first to commentIt’s been a while since my last update. I don’t really care, either.
It seems like so much has been going on, but really there has been little at all. I’ve just really been keeping busy. Not playing around on the internet too much.
I just finished a term at school last week… the one where I was registered for 1 class but was taking 2 more just to fill my time. Well, the two extra ones I went to for a while, before I really just didn’t feel like driving all the way to cincinnati for them. That, and I was just doing too many other things to keep up on the projects for them. The promotional materials class, the one I really hated because it had little to nothing to do with my goals for school… The final project for that sucked. We had to develop an entire promotional campaign for a business. My group decided to use a band as our business, which was about the only cool thing going on there. None of us really cared about the class as long as we got at least a D. And we did. The first time I was really worried about a grade, and I at least passed. I don’t care. I don’t have to take the class anymore and I don’t have to deal with Pam Ecker until I take the final projects class. From what I understand, it’s hard to not pass that as long as you get the job done.
So anyway, I get shafted on the break time from school as usual and a new term starts today. Luckly, I only have one class that is on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I get an extra day to.. well, work. I’m really not looking forward to taking my QuarkXPress class, probably because I got a hold of a lazy bug last term, but it will be my last class (unless they decide to throw me off and make me take something other than the projects class) and it shouldn’t be hard, after dealing with Pam’s BS for two terms straight. Plus I’m not trying to comit suicide by taking 2 projects heavy classes for the fun of it.
Work as usual is stupid, I’m barely able to work at all because of my school schedule and I now also have an internship that has to work into the schedule.
I got an internship through/for school at a Sports and Entertainment promotions firm at the edge of downtown Cincinnati. So far it’s been alright, but I haven’t done much. They brought me on to do web design, which is alright I suppose. It’s much better than what I was doing at Great Oaks, which, looking back was just a big waste of time that I got paid for.
So far at my internship, I’ve done a little work on one of the websites they maintain, but they really haven’t had anything else for me to do. They wanted me to update their website, but the password for it seems to be missing. The one they gave me didn’t work at all. I’m going to try and talk to the host to see if I can get the password, but that would probably look shady.
Anyhow, part of me being busy is playing a lot of video games. Yeah, I know. How can you call that busy? Well, there is nothing else going on and it’s gotten cold outside, so I can’t wash my car and stuff like I had been wanting to do for a while. Looks like it’s going to be put off until the spring, unless miraculously we get another warm and sunny day before winter is in full step and it just so happens that I’m not busy on that day. Ha. Yeah right.
All in all, I’m gearing up for the holidays, looking forward to seeing my family and hopefully getting to spend some time with Joe and the E-Men, since Mike is no longer working at the golf course and Joe’s schedule has calmed down for the winter. Joe said that the station had hired in some people to replace others whose jobs he was trying to do, so maybe his schedule will open up more so he can have some time to himself.
So yeah.
That’s all I have for now.
Smell ya later.
