I think I might actually finish this webpage. I’m stuck inside for the whole weekend thanks to the white death, and the fact that the stupid snow plow likes to bury my car.

The snow last night wasn’t too bad. Unfortunately, there is still about 5-6 inches already out there, and no sign of the sun to come melt that crap away. Also, the news said we are supposed to be getting 8 to 10 more inches!!! For crying out loud, it took me 30 minutes to dig my car out of the snow yesterday, and with 8-10 inches, I won’t even SEE my car for another 3 weeks. Stupid snow.
Anyways, I finally got the news page rolling, and the other pages will be cake work compared to this. The news page is the most HTML I’ve coded in about a year and a half. something like 200 lines, tabled nested out the butt. It sucked, but it looks pretty good, and similar to the google page that I’m giving tribute to.

No Comments »so far we’ve gotten about 4 of that 8-10 inches. and it’s only 11 (or so). For some stupid reason, me, Mike, Joe and Doug braved the white death to get some Wendy’s, because they are the only place where the workers are so under-appreciated that a certain someone wouldn’t give them the okay to close so they can go home before the roads go from “really horrid”, to “impending death”. They don’t get the idea that while they are the only restaurant open, and getting all the business… IT’S NOT WORTH IT. Stupid place.
Anyhow, some dick warned me up to 35% on AIM today, and it really pissed me off. I will throw a party the day that AOL finally removes the damn warning “feature” from the program.
In other news, I’m going to work on the albums for the site next, so expect that to be up whenever I’m feeling up to staring at HTML for a couple more hours.
No Comments »Woke up to another 3 or 4 inches. Spent my morning shoveling the driveway, and digging my car out for the third time. This time, since the parents are at work, I put it in the garage. I’m so clever. ![]()
I’m going to go driving around in this crap later just for kicks.
From the looks of it, this is probably the end of all the crappy snow. The weather forcast has some off and on crap listed throughout the week, but I don’t think it can really get worse. ![]()
So, I was at work tonight, on stupid drive thru (speaker, to be exact) and a guy pulls up and orders a sandwich. Then I asked him “Are you sure you didn’t want to make that a combo?”. He stuttered for a moment, and then shouted out “Oh, GO TO HELL!” which of course shocked me enough that I couldn’t pull out a fast response before he drove off.
Unfortunately for him, before he could make it to the end of the lot, a car began to pull out and he had to wait in his big stupid mini van… right in front of my window. So everyone just stood there watching him while he shouted lord knows what through 2 panes of glass at us.
Minutes later, he was inside making a bigger fool of himself carrying on about how “This isn’t Dave’s [Thomas'] way” like he knew more about my job than me.
It really pissed me off that he turned a stupid question, which my boss tells me to ask, into a 10 minute ordeal like this, when he could have simply said “no.” or even “Stop asking me that.” and gotten home to watch 20/20 or whatever losers like him watch. That would just be to simple for some people.
I really hate when people get bent out of shape.
Title says it all. Even though Great Oaks was closed today, I still had to go and do exactly what I’d be doing at home. The only difference is when I’m at home, my mom would give me some annoying task for the day, but there, I got paid. ![]()
Celia, Sarah, Anna and Racheal are going to Tennesee this weekend. I hope they have a good trip… you know they will because they’ll be thinking about me the whole time… I wish.
I thought of that because I went to Wendy’s to give Celia another copy of the Evanescence CD for her friend. Yes, I know copying music is bad. la-de-da. I’m going to buy the CD when I see Evanescence next Wednesday, and I’m sure everyone I’ve made the CD for will, too. Besides, they are currently only selling it through their website.
Tomorrow I have to go to the Laurel Oaks campus again. The drive out there is kinda nice because it’s mostly woods and back country. It makes for a pleasant drive because there aren’t any annoying people on their Cell Phones hogging the lanes in SUVs.
I’m going to be there without Jill tomorrow, so I hope everything goes smoothly and I don’t make too much of a fool of myself ![]()
But for now… Goodnight!
So my day at Great Oaks was mostly a bust. I got to work with 6 students for about 30 minutes, before 4 of them decided they don’t care and began working on other projects.
The highlight of my day there was a good old fashioned school lunch.
I think tomorrow at the live campus will be better, provided these teachers remember that I’m coming.
I’ve been playing Phantasy Star Online for Gamecube for a few days now, and it’s pretty cool. ![]()
I’ve been tired since I got home and I’m struggling to stay aware of what the hell I’m doing, so I think now is a good time to call it quits for the day.
So after getting nothing done on Wednesday, I went to the Live campus on Thursday and finished up the sample portfolio I was working on, then got the students working on scanning their documents. Things at live are coming along quite well, and I think I’ll actually be done with them early. So I went home and had plans to absolutely crash and grab a bite to eat, because I usually sacrifice my chance at lunch to get work done. I managed to walk in the door before I was reminded that I had to go a movie tonight. Joe got some passes to a preview of the movie Old School and I completely forgot that it was tonight. When you have the free passes, they are only good at a certain theatre, at a certain time… and because I didn’t get home until 5:15, getting something to eat consisted of pop tarts until later when we went to Steak N’ Shake.
Friday I woke up and almost regretted staying out that late. Almost. The movie was really good. I spent the morning at the IRC helping Jill get ready for a presentation that she had on Saturday, and then went to Live to give another speech on the electronic portfolios. It feels really weird being the one to tell people about this project, because it really is just a virtual resume, and I really don’t understand why my opinions on resumes are so good. Anyway, after a long Friday, I had to go into work at Wendy’s. Nothing new there. Selling burgers, being cool. It sucked not having Anna there. She really is the best
Then Saturday was good until I went into work. I slept in for the first time in about 3 weeks. Then I went and got my oil changed since I’ve been packing the miles on my car. Afterwords, I just drove around a bit. I didn’t want to waste my free time sitting in front of a computer doing jack crap. Work wasn’t bad, but I just didn’t want to be there. We didn’t exactly have the ideal crew and we didn’t get most of our work done until late.
Here it is Sunday, and my day is going to be a bore, but I think I like it.
My hair is getting really long. (for those who don’t know, Mike and I are having a bet to see who can go the longest without cutting their hair, but I think we really don’t care anymore and we just want to grow our hair out.)
No Comments »I suppose that I should update more frequently than every other month, so I guess a day less than a month qualifies. Hah!
So. Big changes are about for Brian. I’m still working at the Foundry. It’s not bad. It’s paying well. But soon I won’t have a 45 minute drive to work. It will be less than 5 minutes for me. On October 15th, the e-men will be moving into a house in the Oakley area of Cincinnati. HOT STUFF!
I’m so excited. Even though it’s two weeks away, I’ve got the majority of my stuff packed up because I was a bit worried I wouldn’t have time to do it all next weekend, because I want to make sure when I leave my room is nice and clean for my parents. So my shelves are empty and most everything is boxed up.
We have been approved the landlord (who is female, so I guess it’s technically a landlady) to sign a lease, which we will be doing in the next couple of days. (Pretty much as soon as we schedule a time that we can all meet.) The deposit is a month’s rent, and in order to move in on the 15th, we have to pay 1/2 a month’s rent. However, I think it would be totally awesome if she let us start moving in next week. (which, I don’t see why she wouldn’t, since the house is empty and ready to go NOW.) If so, I’m totally going to drop off as much stuff as I can fit in my car before work everyday so that there is much less to do on the 15th for me.
So I’m trying to prepare for this, get plenty of sleep, work and still enjoy myself and there are still things I need to do.
So hey.
Yeah.
See ya.
No Comments »I got a bit more done on Michelle.
This file is already outdated.
Today we are supposed to show what progress we have made. We were supposed to get the eyes done and start on something else. Heh. I think I got that down.
So what did I do last night? Not much. We had dinner as a family because my Dad’s B-Day was Saturday, but he was out of town until yesterday afternoon. Kristen joined us for chili and it was pretty good. We didn’t eat until later in the evening though, because my mom had something to do at work and she got held up there. Oh well. It was still good.
Afterwords, I worked on Michelle some more and played battlefield 1942.
I was feeling kinda dizzy last night from around 6 up until (and including) when I went to bed. I feel fine today though. I dunno what that was all about.
I woke up this morning to the phone ringing around 8 O’clock. Big Suprise, it was sales call. They started yammering something and I just hung up on them. Then another sales call came at 9. They started yammering something and I hung up on them. Then the phone rang at 9:30. I answered and just started saying uh-huh a bunch, then hung up. It was my mom.
I decided it would be a good idea to just get up rather than being annoyed that everyone with a phone didn’t want me to sleep. Whatever.
Now I’m in Illustrator, waiting for Jason to show up.
See ya.
